"Could everything have been different, if ... ?"

unmerklich drängen fingerspitzen is a subtle dance theatre production, in which parallel worlds appear and, just as abruptly, disappear. Casual, everyday situations are revealed as intricate dream sequences where out of nothing, moments of belonging, tenderness, desire and rage are transiently created and dissolved.

unmerklich drängen fingerspitzen plays with the suspense of the moment, with colours and dress codes, moments of repetition, shifting constellations, and coincidence. Ultimately, the piece asks the question: "Could everything have been different, if . . . ?“

unmerklich drängen fingerspitzen is based upon a narrative text by Andrea K. Schlehwein and 104 playing, upon each of which one word is written. Each card is drawn and the word spoken, regardless of its coherency in the story. The words and phrases are but empty shells, into which the viewers can project their individual worlds, dreams, wishes and recollections.

The audience sits scattered throughout the space, with the possiblity and invitation to turn their attention towards five intimate, and very different, islands of action – performed by Unita Gay Gailuyo, Carlos Osatinsky, Fernando Nicolás Pelliccioli and Eleonore Schäfer.

After its debut performance in 2008, unmerklich drängen fingerspitzen was awarded a BMUKK (Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture / performance prize) and in 2009 was invited to the Internationales Theater Festival Spektrum in Austria. In 2010 unmerklich drängen fingerspitzen gave a guest performance in the capital of the culture Istanbul on the occasion of the Integral Move International Performing Arts Festival.

This piece is simple to produce as all technical elements are controlled by the performers themselves, so no additional technical support is necessary. It is a piece that can be performed in a variety of settings, as long as there is power available: in a museum, gallery, parking lot ...
